That list seems more of a most popular guitarist list, I mean some of those guys, although great players, were guitarist before metal even came into being.

I think it was because some of these guys influenced hard rock and metal back in the early days. So, they probably got points for that.

That is probably why Perry is ahead of SRV because Perry's style is a little closer to Metal than SRV, I think ;)
Page is ahead of people like Beck,Clapton and SRV for the same reason.
But if it was any other list, these guys would definitely be in the top 10.
Yeah, But Page really isn't all as great as Beck, Clapton, Srv. He's so sloppy it kinda gets annoying after a while (yes, I know that's also one of his strong points). I bet SRV Would top that list if he played 80's hair blues-metal! :D

Actually only two recorded song were covers
The only recorded song covers he did were:
All along the Watchtower by Bob Dylan,
Hey Joe by the Leaves.
And he played Sunshine of your Love by Cream and a couple other cover songs in Concert but that's it.
He is one of the most Original Artists/Singer-Songwriters ever.
