I need some help with some home recordings
Hi, I try and record at home to the PC but the quality is ****, lots of noize. What I currently do is have a mic to my amp, from the mic to a mixer table, from teh mixer table to the PC soundcard. What software is best for recording and saving to MP3? right now im just using the windows sound recorder.....

Best way to go would be a line out of your mixer and into your line in on your soundcard. Make sure your not plugging into your mic in on your soundcard by mistake. Some good software for recording is MAGIX. It works well and won't break the bank.
I am a constant evolving music machine. Oh Man, I just forgot what I was playing. Oh well, on to the next song.

For recording cheaply I'd suggest Power Tracks Pro from PG Music. A truly excellent multi track recording package with sequencing, drum loops etc. all for $29! I've used it for years now and it just keeps getting better.

and if you want to record for absolutely no money, ive used Audacity . it works, but it takes some practice to get everything about it down.
