Inside Picking

Ahh now here's a toughy. I would greatly like to improve my inside picking technique because it seems that inside picking in combination with alternate picking is how a lot of people obtain their speed (I used to think that alternate picking and inside picking were the same, but apparently not ? ). Could anyone possibly help me out with this by perhaps posting/linking to exercises or songs that make use of this technique? Any tips on quick and effective ways to approach inside picking? :)

The inside picking is refered to the way you pick betwen 2 strings like this:

e----0----1---3---5----7---8---10----12------
B------0----1---3---5----6---8----10-----12--
G---------------------------------------------

-----D-U-D-U-D-U-D-U-D-U-D-U-D--U--D---U---- (INSIDE PICKING)
-----U-D-U-D-U-D-U-D-U-D-U-D-U--D--U---D---- (OUTSIDE PICKING)

Thanks for the reply. I do know what inside and outside picking is. I guess I was just looking for some more exercises to help improve it.
