either way, i dont care how its fixed, i just want it fixed. also, before i forget and cause confusion, i just put new strings on. i know theyre on right, and i was stupid not to ask or go online for directions to replace your guitar string, since i had no clue how to do that and i did it the right way after doing everything else i could have possible done, including removing the scratch plate, but i did look at a page after googling my problem and i put them on right, but there was no answer to my problem.
problem with string picking up
sound doesnt sustain, high notes break and all notes scratch the bridge. i know there is a name for this problem, but i dont remember it and it can be solved easily but i dont remember that either. it was something like raising the little bar at the top of the neck or some way of raising the strings.

You need to set the bridge height, check the neck for warps and possibly adjust the truss rod. If fret height problems are causing buzzes, you can either get the guitar refretted or just live with it like I do and either raise the string action or just avoid the frets with the problems.
Then you need to intonate the guitar.
Other than that, there's not much you can do except extensive repair hassles.
