Hey does anyone have the same problem I do where you think you are covered and have every string five times over. And then you snap your high E and find out that your right, you do have every string five times over but no Es! I must have at least ten of each but snaped my E today. I can't buy seperate strings and only really ever snap the E. So for every E I need I get a whole other pack?

Doesn't your music store sell strings separately?
I run into the same problem, having 5 sets of strings and all the A's are missing. But I just buy a whole bunch of A strings cause I know I'm gonna break em.

I wish my music store did. There is only one music store where I live and they don't sell em' seperate. I'm gonna have to beg them to sell me some seperates out of the books. I have never broke any of my strings except E for two years! I have changed them though cause they go rusty.

Well, one thing to keep in mind is that a lot of music stores charge a premium for single strings anyways. Like, my music store charges $1.95 per string and I can get a whole pack for about $5. Less if I buy em off eBay.
So you may just want to buy a bunch of extra packs and either use the E's out of em or just change all your strings every time you break one.

In the past 2-3 weeks I've broke the A off my Schecter, PRS, and acoustic, and the D off the PRS and acoustic. Snapping at the bridge everytime. Maybe I need to stop beating my guitars like the dirty little bastards they are.

Power chords my ass! It's usually been on single string runs. Acoustic was strumming chords though. Broke the A on the Schecter playing that song I sent you (the one that's on myspace). Broke one of the strings on the PRS playing the solo in Man in the Box, and I think the other one broke during Just like you (yes power chords).

I know how you feel, I was about to play a show and I was tuning...I open my case to find no e string...it snapped on the 6 hour car ride. I had no joke 5 packs of strings with...5 strings all together so my manager had to run out and grab a pack from the closest guitar shop, which by the way was closing just as he got there, and by the time he got back I had already re-strung with a B string just in case. My face the entire time was a mixture of  and  it was embarassing...moral of the story, always carry a rubber

i have a guitar/pawn shop by my house that sells 3 dollar packs of strings. austin city sucks the big one, but im always strapped for cash, and 3 bucks is easilly the best deal around. other than that, ernie ball singles, baby.

Check the strings before you buy em.
Some cheapo places sell dull or rusted strings for cheap.
I used to manage a music store once and sold a whole bin of strings for $1.00/ package. I ended up selling about 100 of em until I finally looked at the things and they were rusted through. (The owner of the store was an ass) I tossed the rest out.
Guess I shoulda known the guy was a scammer when half the guitars in the store were 'Huyundai's

I dunno why, but i havent snapped a string in what seems to be ages.

And even if i do, i always change the whole set of strings. I use the Elixier 10s plus a .065 bass string for the low B. I found that the 10s do hardly snap at all. i change strings every 1-2 months.

I decided that I'm not going to break strings. It's too much of a pain in the ass.

Since I've had my Ibanez, going on a year or so now, I haven't broken one string.

It has a floyd rose, but I don't think that matters. Luck, I guess.

I use D'Addrio XL .10s. Seem good to me! I always hated that feeling too. Rip out a bend, and BOINK! watch your face!
Sometimes I hit notes only dogs can hear.

 What are you guys doing? I can't remember when I've broken a string while playing. I think the last time I broke one was when I got a little over-rambunctious while stretching a new set during installation, and I snapped the high E. Fortunately, my shop sells single strings. But playing? Come to think of it, I don't think that's ever happened to me. Not even with crazy trem action.
