100 watt tube..too much for bar gigs???

i have a bv120hb on the way... i play metal inin a band...our gigs are bars and clubs.....do have too much power, volume for the bands good???

Generally anything more than 50 tube watts is too much for club gigging, but if the amp has a good master volume, and you and the rest of the band don't get into volume war's, then you should be fine. Just don't be surprised if a soundman gives you a hard time. They hate big rigs. But, it's nice to have the extra oomph say for an unmic'd outdoor gig. However I have played an unmiced outdoor gig with a 50 watt 2x12 tube combo and was plenty loud.
