best site online for guitar purchase

so, yeah, best I've seen so far are www.musiciansfriend.com and www.music123.com

any better than these?

I'd probably go with eBay. As long as you check up on who you're dealing with and use PayPal for your purchase, you can get some decent stuff at a good price. You might want to get one of those 'ebay for dummies' books first though. There's definite insider tricks to 'power bidding' and looking out for stuff like hidden shipping charges, best times of the day to bid, watching items and how to outwit 'snipers' etc...
Just get everything in writing and use PayPal so you have some insurance if you get shafted.

www.music123.com are great. I have had good experiences with zzsounds.com also.

www.8thstreet.com will give you a good price though there customer service sucks.

www.musiciansfriend.com are just money grabbing bastards. It will be a long time before I do a lot of business with them again !!

eBay can be hit or miss. I think you kneed to know what you are doing to get a bargain. I have had some excellent deals and let some really great bargains go however I know of plenty of people who have had their fingers burnt !

funny, I would say the opposite... see, I was going to buy my first guitar off of www.zzounds.com and the one that I had picked out (the behringer v-tone pack) was out of stock, but it said it was expected back like 3 days from the date that I ordered it, so I waited patiently, and then the three days passed, but the date got pushed back like a week, so I waited even more patiently, and then the date got pushed back like 2 months... so, I pretty much cancelled the order and went to a local guitar store instead (which turned out to be a good thing, cause I got a much better guitar and amp, though it cost me almost twice as much)

on the other hand, I ordered from www.musiciansfriend.com when I bought my new amp, and it was sent out quickly, it arrived in one piece, and worked perfectly, so, no complaints...

Well having spent getting on for $30 000 on kit via on line vendors (in the last 5 years) Im not going to bother to qualify my opinion. Use the search function if you want to know why I think what I think !

i would suggest ebay, but a specific person on their. search the member online_instruments . he has some of the best lookin, best playing guitars that money can buy, and for under $200!! i know, because i personally own one.

I have gotten alot from musiciansfriend and I just recived my new amp from them. However, I have come to a conclusion with them. They are great for buying everything except a guitar. I ordered a guitar from them a week before the amp i got was ordered. It was put on backorder and said it wouold still arrive within the 7 days. Well 7 days came and passed and they said at the end of this month. So I went ahead and canceled that order and got a better guitar. They shipped it today supposedly, so Idk if this one is put on back order again it will only further my opinon. However, as to customer service they really are wonderful.

Being on "Back Order" is salesman speak for "I don't have one in stock, but I'm going to hope like hell I can find one at another store or something before you get pissed off and cancel the order. All that matters right now is that I get your money so my manager sees that I've made a sale"
