In a "What do you think about Coldplay?" thread, I'd not only agree, but I might even add that I think they're boring beyond description.

However, in a "Who's your favorite?" thread, it only really serves to unnecessarily cause problems.

In my experience, anyway.

Guitar? Probably about nine years, though you'd never guess it. I only really play to entertain myself and because it sometimes helps me in my songwriting.

Bass is my primary instrument and if I sit down and play some guitar then play some bass, it's very obvious.

I have some varied taste:

My ultimate favourite bands are Pink Floyd and Dire Straits.

Although the bands I listen to the most are bands like:
In Flames
Nine Inch Nails
Children Of Bodom
Atreyu(also kinda screamo)
etc also quite into screamo/post hardchore stuff-like The Used, Finch, Funeral For a Friend and Coheed and Cambria.
Also love Cat Stevens and Bob Dylan, and you can forget Ian Matthews Souther Comfort.

No one could ever make a sensible post on this thread...If I was to list all of my favourite bands, I would be giving PonyOne a big challenge on the long posts thing...I cant limit it.

Well anyone who knows me knows that im extremley critical of music and i hand pick any band that im going to listen to or even possibly listen to. In my humble opinion godzilla impressions with a continuous open E string being played is not music. the "scremo" stuff you are talking about. Why listen to that when their is so much better out there, try going back into the 70's and 80's. Metallica is a prime example of brilliant composition as well as talent, their early stuff that is. But hey, everyone is entitled to their opinion.

The english dictionary defines "arrogant" as somone who sees themself as better than others, I dont see myself as better than somone becuase i listen to differnent music. How can you attribute the quaility of arrogance to me when you dont even know me? My self worth is not measured by how good the music i listen to is. This is about the music not me. Please stop bashing me for trying to express my opinion and give some humble advice to a fellow music listener, read that post again, and notice that i put "everyone is entitled to their opinoin" at the end. What do you think this means?  This signifies that i respect the interests of others and I in no way see myself superior to anyone on this forum even if they listen to britney spears. So before you going around these forums pointing fingers at people and causing problems i suggest you take a look inside yourself and try and discover what insecurities within your brain sparked you to be so blatantly insulting and downright rude. Good day mr. Akira

If it's death metal then I like it... a lot. I can count the death metal bands I don't like on one hand and I don't even need all 5 fingers. But favorite bands as a whole I'd be sitting here naming bands all day. I have more favorite bands than the member history of Iced Earth.
The Gods Made Heavy Metal, And They Saw That It Was Good
They Said To Play It Louder Than Hell, We Promised That We Would

I dont by any means think bands now suck. But I do agree that they cant seem to match up to the older bands. But if there werent these bands now, then music would never evolve.
