Sound: British vs. American
Well, well, well... I see people are discussing cheese on this board... Let's talk about smth more interesting: How would you describe British and American sounds?
# 1
I find Brit sounds to be tighter and more twangy...American sounds seem warmer and bigger to me.
And I happen to like cheese (see my synth guitar thread to find out which cheese I specifically like)

there's nothing wrong with cheese... untill somebody cuts it at the wrong place at the wrong time ;)
For those who do not know, my question is about amplifiers.

American bands are a little more cheesy sounding than British bands.

to me, the "British" sound is a little more focused in the mid's and the "american" sound is a little more scooped in the mid's. But, that all depends on what genra you're talking about, but generally that's how I feel.
Personally, my tone is very midrange focused, because that's where a guitar's voice is. The other guitarist I play with play's with minimul mid's, and I can play half the volume he playes at and you can still hear me over him.
I just love the punchyness of the midrange.
To sum it up... "British" focused mid's, "American" all over the place... unless you're talking about the root's..... the blue's. Then you have both, and both just seem to "fit".
