I went for lessons, then I studied music and guitar through The Guitar School, now that I am in London, I no-longer go for lessons, but will resume when I get back home next year...
I think personal lessons help me alot...I am a big fan of jamming with other musicians as well...I dont think internet and video lessons will ever surpass private lessons...although they are definately good too.

As of right now, I'm self taught, but I do a lot of reading and watch a lot of other guitarists play as well as listen to as much as I can... so it sort of balances out... sort of.
