Randy Rhoad's scales and riffs
# 1
Hey, i can't quote you any particular Scales as such, but i know rhandy rhodes liked classical minor stuff and talks about diminshed chords which he would then work his scale off i guess. so if you want to sound like him practise as much classical stuff as possible, preferably in a minor key. this was his approach any way!!! good luck

After I purchase a few tab books, I'll post here again. But I can tell you that Randy's big thing was to play every song in a different key, and all that emotion is from his improvisation.

I got one tab book ever and it was the Ozzy Tribute to Randy Rhoads. You will learn so much from it. Tracks like Dee, Mr. Crowly, Crazy Train and the live improvs contain some really cool runs and patterns. You can see how some of the later players like Malmsteen were also influenced by him. Check it out.

October's Guitar One Magazine has a pretty big article about playing like Randy. I haven't gotten around to reading the whole thing yet, but it might be worth checkin' out.
Blues is easy to play, but hard to feel.
