looking for a delaypedal

Are there such big differences in them as with, let's say, distortions. I mean.. it's an echo =) I'm awaiting tons of reactions to that one muahaha.

But seriously. I'm not looking for something fancy but something that does the job and won't interfer with my tone other than .. adding delay to it. You get my drift don't ya?

Im using a Boss DD6. Less digital than the DD5. The DD3 is also another nice pedal. It sounds more analogue but doesn't have the really long Max Delay of the DD6.

I'm using the Boss DD-3, and I really enjoy it. When in front of an amp it does have a very analogue sound to it, which is a good thing if you ask me. It does great in the loop as well. It's also fairly versatile in the way's you can set it up. I've also hear that the Line6 Echo Park is a really good and versatile delay pedal.

I had a DD3 until some **** stole it from a gig I was working !!

I really liked it, particularly the stereo effect. Very nice !

get an dl4 made by line 6.... soooo damn good, also u get 14secs or recording :)

Absolutely agree. The Boss DD3 is a great piece of kit. It does the job every time without fail. It's also a very sturdy build and can take a knock or two. Go for the DD3.

This works well with my passion with wrecking stuff.

Digital delay's definately work better between the guitar and amp vs. the effects loop.

you really dont want to put delays, compressors, verbs or distortion pedals in the loop as they are effects that need to be applied to the whole signal. loops are all about sending some of the signal through the processor.

Yes all of these effects require that you effect the whole signal.

There is absolutely no point in applying compression or say a noise gate to only 25% of the signal.

Putting effects in your loop is all about only sending some of the signal to the effect, hence the controls on you amp for mixing: A) how much signal goes down the loop and B) how much of the signal that comes back gets mixed in.

Placing things like a wah / compressors and noise gates between the guitar and the amp allows you to effect 100% of the signal.

However things like flangers, choruses and phasers and even delay pedals work really well in loops.

reverb and delay don't work very well in front of an amp if you use them for the dirty channel and the clean channel of the amp. If you set it for the clean channel and then switch to the dirty channel the reverb and delay will be magnified...a lot. But, if you use pedal's to get your distortion, the they work fine in front of the amp. Just one more thing to keep in mind.

I have both verb and delay in font of mine. As long as the verb is after the distortion you can get away with it. I prefer the TSLs verb to the pedal I have however if Im using the MG I will use the OD-20 for dirty sound and as the RV5 is after the OD-20 it all sounds great !
