I am making my 2nd attempt to learn to play the guitar well. I have a Gibson Epiphone acoustic. Im a very big country music fan and was wondering if anyone had any pointers or anything to help me learn.

Learn chords in and out. Be able to switch through them randomly untill you feel comfortable. Then look on a tab site or buy sheet music at a nearby music store of what ever artist/'s you desire. Remember: Practice everyday for at least an hour. If you get frustrated then take a couple of minutes or stop untill the next day. Your fingers will hurt for a good week and a half untill you develop calisus' on your fingertips. Untill you have good calisus', you might not be able to hold too many chords without hitting a "dud". Also, you don't have to press down so hard that god couldn't pull away the guitar. Not a lot of pressure is required to keep the strings down. GL.

We have quite a few country instructors on the main page here... try checking out their stuff and learn to play each lick slowly.

click on that link and go down to the country section for a list of the instructors who are the best at that genre.
