Korn does suck:

-They have two guitarists, both just jackoff
-Their vocalist is horrible. He cannot sing or even please the ear
-Their music videos are the biggest piece of **** I have ever seen in my life. -Look at that one video where its a cartoon and the guy kills himself by picking his nose...
-People only love Korn because they have not heard anything better.

Most poeple begin to HATE bands like Korn once they start guitar. They have absolutly NO talent. I think EVERY instuctor in this website can slaughter Korn's guitarists and make them feel like total crapheads.

I have more respect for beginners at guitar then Korn's guitarists. Cause I know in a year or so, they will be so much better than them.

It's totally subjective, and it's intresting to share oppinions, in particular if they're 180 degree to your own... just because there isnt a universal truth about music, doesnt mean that poeple have their own criterea or shouldnt discuss them if they do.
this thread is about korn and how nu metal sucks... well, I'm here to give the other perspective.. I'm not a fan of nu metal, but to me, in comparison to shlock rock it's not where near as bad.. and i'm fed up with poeple who look down on new metal when what they worship is some of the most vacant and vapid rawk...

Ok they're repetitive, but jackoff? There isnt a huge amount of meandering going on... I think the guitar part on A.D.I.D.A.S is pretty nifty...

This I TOTALLY disagree with, the video of the car crash scene, and the body bags i thought was pretty inventive, or maybe it needed more pyrotechnics, cheer leaders, and old blokes in leather trousers bludgeoning you with most predictable solos their adavance could afford them :rolleyes:

Ive download the G3 thing with Eric johnson last year, and sweet jumbeliah... it really is cruiship Satch... I keep expecting them to ask the audience if they're enjoying their meal between songs..
Eric Johnson (i'd never heard of him before i got this) makes some generic campain trail music... the kind that you hear playing in the background in a report from the replican/ democart conventions... this is as close to encapsulating bland as i've seen..
Steve Vai, had intresting split second moments, other wise he just seems to be there cos he dug his G3 hole and is just trying to dig out of it... X-treme and Attitude spring to mind... that's why he wont see a penny from me.
There is a cover of Red house on there, and i compared it to henrix's version... Seriously i was dumb founded... I didnt like hendrix's version, but it wasnt any were near as sterile and pointless, and God! eric johnson's singing has the passion and character of a cadaver...

Ok, I'm not most poeple... Since i took up guitar, I got intrested in music as a whole, and more recently in songwriting... and i honestly can say, I've found bugger all that's moved me and or touched me that's buy any of them there white snake types...

There's no way you could tell who's a better guitarist, and that's what poeple here dont get... You can prove who's faster sure, but what on god's earth has that got to do with ANYTHING?

This is a band, that you might say "cant play", but i've not heard anything by someone who "could play" as much as the song "under a cloud"... and for me the great thing about it is, its subtle, so much that some poeple are gonna be walking off scratching their heads. It really changed my outlook on song writing, in that you dont need to be able to sing in tune, or have polished production to do someting intresting... infact far from it...
That's just it, music can be used to reflect much more than what's on your fret board, and it can reflect about your personality. You dont have to be showy, or technical, and i personaly respect guitarists that show restraint (not that i dont poeple who play with more gusto, or possibly rabies in case of Captain Beefheart).
It seems a common pitfall for guitarists is that they devolop the (muscial) terrible twos. They discover they have a voice, and feel they have to hear it all the damn time. It's pinch harmonic then whammy all the bloody time.

I have more respect for beginners at guitar then Korn's guitarists. Cause I know in a year or so, they will be so much better than them.

I have more respect for a full colostomy bag than an arrogant guitarist... and there's a lot of parralels to be drawn there...

What i really object to is the putting down of something that's at least [u]trying[/u] to do something hasnt been milked to death, while personalitiless cack that's just there to fill the void is wowed at (that's everything from the current hip hop with the "in da club" formula to the most sterile tones of Vivaldi as played by "who gives a shlt"), and that these poeple filter cliches to put them in an even more presentable format... its just the whole mass production from a template thing, where the next person alters the template a little with the aim producing even MORE... No wonder you dont see these avaricious plank spankers having much cultural significance...

I think brittny spears did so well financially because chritina agulira came out at about the same time and they sound kind of the same. Although im not a fan of pop music, christina agulira does have a hell of a voice (and shes hot as hell.) So with that said I think that helped brittny spears sell cds regardless of her lack of musical talent.
