I'm just curious what the best accomplishments that Guitar Tricks users have achieved since signing on here. I mean like record contracts, publishing deals, live shows, bands you've put together.
All because you got inspiration from stuff you learned here. :)

People were doing some or all of that before signing on here. Hanging out with fellow writers, in my opinion, doesn't go very far in way of getting you published or anything like that. It might help your career, but it's often going to be the exception, not the rule.
Can you learn stuff from online friends?
Sure.
Can you put together career changing moves on account of online friends?
I doubt it.

I got to play at Ryles in Boston, but I can't exactly say I learned to play the sax on GT. I released an album locally, but that was before I was really a GT member.
Sorry guitartricks, I don't owe you that much.

Got a coupla songs placed on TV too, and just signed with a publisher representing advertisers in the U.K. Sold my first one for Ā£15,000 publishing and Ā£15,000 licensing with royalties to boot. Just signed with Socan for royalties from internet radio.
And I got a haircut to boot, that I just did myself and saved $20. :D

I can't say that I've played with bands or released any albums but what GT and all the instructers has done for me is help me improve in my playing. Iv'e only been playing for 8 months or so but in the last few weeks since joining GT the stuff I'm playing actually sounds somethng like music. I now get alot more enjoyment out of playing my guitar so I've got the greatest accomplishment of all.

Whoa!...you didn't consult your agent before doing this?
seriously,75,000 discs is incredible.I would be happy to have just 75 people to buy a full album from me(no album anyway)...did you go to the studio or did you do this all at home?By yourself or with people?
Try once,fail twice...

Just goes to show ya you don't have to buy greatest bells and whisltes to make an album these days.
I don't even use an amp or any outboard equipment at all.. Don't even own an amp.
The guitar stuff is completely computer based.
(it wa\bbbbbbbbbbb
All my equipment lists is here:
http://www.schmange.com/equipment.htm with half my stuff in Cornwall.
For the most part, i use a Mac G3 with 266mhz processor and 320MB Ram.
In fact, this song is done using that:
