i know 16 and 16 is 8 and 8 and 8 is 4 but im not sure on the mixing

if someone could post what i do for combinations like 16 and 8 and 8 and 4 or 16 and 4 or 4 and 16....

or can it just not work at all?

???

I you connect a 16 Ohm cab in parallel with an 8 Ohm cab, the net impedance is 5.3 Ohms.

If you have a tube amp with an impedance-matching switch for the output transformer, the closest setting is 4 Ohms, with 8 Ohms as an acceptable alternative. A transistor amp won't care what the impedance is, as long as it's above the specified minimum.
