I know this kind of goes against Schmange's sticky, but it's not too confusing a site. Just click "listen" on the different songs (GASP!).

Finally, I got to listen to Giant Fighting Robot. Totally badass!!!

I'm giving them all listen now.

Giant Fighting Robot - reminds me of the band Cake for some reason. Nice hook with the chorus. Pretty good song overall.

Call me Up to Rock You - Very cool again. Nice singing. Very reminiscint of the 80s. Nice guitar playing too.

The Boxing Rabbi Steinberg - Nice melody at the beginning of the song. Nice singing again. Singing reminds me of Jack Black. Very Tenacious D sounding. Very good though!

Nice work Jolly, funny but still good music.

Good Luck!

Actually, I prefer to put the real hook in the verses. That repeating melody: "WHAT WE NEED!" and "MACHINE GUN ARMS!"

Neither do I, I'm playing through my buddy's guitar, amp, AND pedal. It's an ESP ltd, a Crate amp, and I can't remember if I ended up using his Zoom (aka piece of crap) or my bassist's boss...or both at different points... Normally I play a les paul through a marshall amp with digitech distortion, so you can imagine it was quite a change!

I like the lead tone on steinberg though, where it's just the esp through a clean fender amp.

Ouch... Crate... that explains a lot.

Of course, you know I already dig this stuff as I have been tormenting my friends with it.

Jolly, what a marvelous trifecta of songs you have presented us with. It's so much more personal to hear your voice in these songs. Definately not congruent with how I always pictured you'd sound in my head; but I'm wasted most of the time so don't let mess with ya!

Giant Fighting Robot:
I have been singing this song to myself at home and work over the past couple of days since I heard it. If I had an iPOD I'd put it on it. Very good work

Call Me Up to Rock Me:
Man, you had an awesome Bon Scott vibe going on this tune. I love all the "ewwws" and "ohhhhhs". It made me wish that you were the lead singer in my band that rocks the deepest recesses of my cerebral cortex.

The Boxing Rabbi Steinberg:
You sound so very earnest whilst singing this song. If I knew for a fact that weren't a complete goofball, I'd think this was some revolutionary music being gently washed against my tympanic membranes.

Jolly, I've thoroughly enjoyed listening to these songs. They're so much more personal, to me, than I would've previously thought possible on a guitar nerd's website.

Peace out,
Leedogg

Hahaha, thanks a lot man. Don't worry, Leedogg, I talk differently than I sing, hahaha. Oh, and you can call me Evan, by the way. I tire of "Jolly."

Hey.... I got nothin against posting stuff like that as long as it's easy as hell to get the thing playing.

the only thing that screws me up is places that require you to sign up and register and provide a pic of your newborn to just listen to one song.

That said.....

Decent song.... if there's any way to load it at a higher kbps then go for it....
there's nothing that turns off people than lo-fi songs at 128kbps or lower.

Song wise.... not bad.... only my opinion but I'd 'cool' up your singing a bit .... instead of singing 'giant fighting robot' I'd cool it up like 'gaaan faaatin robod ......"
Music wise, not bad.... but add something in there to blow people away.... a lead or something that makes guys go 'whoa'.....

Just my opinion tho..... brought on by a bottle of sherry my dad bought me :)

You know, I actually thought about doing that when we went to record it. I stuck with the clarity because I felt a clear staccato feel was more robotic. But thanks, man, next time we're live we'll test it out.
