Would it still work on my guitar ? just not backwards? Or should I take it to a guitar specialist and have a whole drilled so it can dip backwards?
I need help; Floyd Rose Compatiblity?
My guitar doesn't have that dip on the end of the bridge area, so if I had a Floyd Rose on it, it wouldn't be able to dip backwards; only towards the neck like a normal tremolo.

Well since you failed to mention what guitar you have, that certainly adds to the, " Who in the world would know " factor, but regardless of the guitar you have, any guitar has to have the proper routing to accept a Floyd Rose, it's not just a matter of will it fit in the hole, the fine tuners have to have clearance, the tail block needs to have the proper clearance to move in either direction, there has to be a spring cavity and the pivot studs have to be mounted in the right location, best to take it to a pro that will make sure it's installed and set-up properly, it'll saves you alot of headaches you probably don't want........................................

It will be probably be cheaper to buy a new low end Kramer or Jackson with a FR rather than try to fit one to a guitar that doesn't have one.
