Does Emo suck
Well does it? I just figured out how to get an emo sound recently.

This question may be a little too agressive...
I personally greatly dislike Emo, but I'm not going to belittle it and say it "sucks." Although I think it is musically underdeveloped and lyrically generic and trite, IMHO.
However, I seriously think the thread title is a bomb waiting to go off...

I'm not saying that I will be the one to do it, but do you think that its the Emo its self or just that no legendary bands have emerged from the style.

Emo is a decent style to mess around with if you're just learning how to play and want to do some small gigs with friends for fun. If the guitar part rocks emo can actually sound pretty good.
That being said, emo blows on a professional level with a few rare exceptions.

Of course theres no "legendary" emo bands; the term was only coined very recently. But i do like some emo bands and more "screamo" bands. were there any particular bands u were thinking of? cuz sometimes it's hard to put a label on bands...

I like Thursday a lot. I tihnk War All the Time is a great CD. I tihnk many people are turned off by their vocals (i was at first), but it really grew on me.

Emo,to me,is just another fad.I can't think of any band that has talent claiming to be emo or grouped in it.Its a fashion, wearable by youth and youth minded 'individuals'...

Does the moderator know that emo is a style and not a band or artist?

Yes. He moved it to what he felt was a more appropriate section of the forum...I was actually wondering why it hadn't been moved yet.

You may want to rethink that post. Welcome to the forum, though!
