Also it could be the fact that the drums were close to tha amp and the membrane vibrated a lot?
do i have to rehearse with high volume?
I usually rehearse home with a low volume. A few days ago I went, after a long time, to my band's reheasal where i played the guitar with the volume high. It sounded horrible. IS it because i'm used to play with a low volume?

Practice how you'll play. If you want to play well loud you'll want to practice that way. It makes more of a difference than you probably already realize.

You dont have to have it obnoxiously loud to the point where your speakers are just farting.Put your mids up a bit and you sould cut through at a reasonable volume.
Try once,fail twice...

It also matters where u play, different places sound different, it will sound different in your room wheres there carpet and dry wall, beds, objects in the way, then it would say in someone garagae where its all concrete. practice the most similar to playin environment as its been said before.
WWSD? What would stevie do?

The biggest challenge of playing loud is playing clean, with as little noise as possible (unless you're actually trying to create the noise). When practicing quietly many noises, scratches, small mistakes are less obvious than when cranked up. However, not many people have the option of practicing loud, but I do encourage you to treat yourself from time to time. :D
You might also get shy when playing loud. Many people I know sing great, but when given a microphone they start singing much quieter( :( ). I'd say it's a self-esteem issue, but it's nothing you can't snap out of. Let's see a mean face :  !!!!

I wanna say, "practice loud, but with headphones" but that could be damaging to the ears. hmm... earplugs and headphones?

alternatively, just before you all play, spend sometime on your own playing loud to get yourself used to it before all jam. that may help.

i prefer practicing loud, only because when you do into a band practicing situation, your used to the loudness before hand..
Due to drums not being able to be turned down, yes, it is necessary to rehease with high volume, the drummer in my band has a yamaha 10 peice road kit. with about 15 cymbals surrounding it. What we do with him was we made some big 5 foot wide by 5 foot long wooded blocks wrapped in carpet leaning against the sides of the kit. it may help to face the drum to a wall too..
I've had many problems you are having to, but I got around it!!
