Yo blues, I know what ya mean, just give me my American Strat and everything will be all right. Nothing like coming home and picking up my strat and just playing as a long as I want.

Your right on I have a Jackson kv3 with floyd rose and it kicks butt. I put a George Lynch Screamin Demon as the power plant and it is the most versatile guitar I have ever played I love it. Especially the wide neck and super close action plus it reminds me of Slayer.

*YUP ! I FULLY agree :D...And when you find "that" tone, get down on your knees and thank the lord because there are SOOOOO many confused players out there who unfortunatly are being mislead by bad info and clever marketing.....If ya got the $$$$, THE base configuration (to use as a reference to judge others by, in my opinion) is a Strat or Les Paul played through a Marshall 50 watt head and 4 x 12 half-stack with celestion speakers......You CANNOT go wrong with this set-up....There are others who will compare their guitars/amps/speakers and claim they are just as good, BUT how many can claim that their set-up sounds BETTER? The list just got VERY short :D

I've got a little 55' Fender Tremolux that is so pure I see a halo around it when I play my Les Paul through it.

I've always liked the look, feel and sound of Les Pauls.

Gibson SGs are nice, too.

I also like the look of the Ibanez Artist series.

Never really liked the look of strats, though. Sorry.

Fenders have great sound and feel but they all look, sound, feel, and play the exact same way and all of the afore mentioned are vastly inferior to ibanez. My favorite series by ibanez is the AX series, followed closely by the s-series. And as long as I'm insulting almost everybody's favorite type of guitar, I might as well add that les paul guitars are inferior as well.

Might want to watch your language there buddy.

While I'm not very fond Fenders either, a lot of people around here are. They're sure to jump on you if you talk like that.

*Then why do PROFESSIONAL STUDIO AND LIVE guitar players favor a Fender Strat by about 1 billion to one to Ibanez? (Must be the word hasn't gotten out yet...Yuk, yuk....)

....I might as well add that les paul guitars are inferior as well.

*You might, but you would ABSOLUTELY be talkin' through your sphynctor.....We're talkin' SERIOUS tone here, buckwheat....Not the flavor of the month that you see Vai holding in Guitar Wannabe's R Us.......I HAVE PERSONALLY seen Vai play a Les Paul (Whitesnake tour)....WOW !!! Not an Ibanez in the bunch.....:D

I get the point. What I don't get is what that last paragraph was supposed to mean. Care to explain?

Vai endorses Ibanez, but often plays Les Pauls... what's not to get? I also think that Lee was pointing out that Ibanez' are in fassion right now, which seems to inflate people's perception of "quality" in an instrument.

Seriously, you've been basicly speaking out of your bung hole here, while I'm extreamly unimpressed with most new Fenders, the fact is Fender does offer a wide variety of feels, looks, and tones. And I have yet to hear an Ibanez with the pure balls of a good Les Paul.
