I need a little help because i am and intermediate player i can play most of metallica songs but i cant move my fingers quick enough for the solos is thee anyway i can practise to lossen up my fingers so they move fast enough for solos? thanks carl2004@hotmail.com
Learn the solo's at a slower tempo. Get a metronome, set the tempo to where you can play the solo cleanly and comfortably, then bump the metronome setting up about 4 or 5 bpm, get to where you can play it cleanly at that tempo, and keep going up in increments of 4 or 5 bpm's until you reach the tempo that the song is in..
Slow and steady wins the race, but make sure ur doing everything properly espeically bends etc or else its all for naught. Then u can chop it up later.
Practicing exercises always helps. If you feel like a certain technique could use some improvement, find an exercise that is made for that technique and do it.

I'm sure you know it, but just a reminder for others who might be reading this thread: fret the strings closer to the frets, not in the middle between frets.
