I have been playing guitar since I was 12. I am now 16. I didnt practice near enough when I was younger and now I am really really wanting to become a great player and I have been practicing my ass off. Do you think I am still young enough to become a really awesome player? The reason I ask is because I read of all the great guitarists picking up a guitar and starting to practice seriously around the ages of 7-12 and in jimi hendrix's case at 13.

Yeah ive been playin since i was about 7 years old, im 14 now... I'm in a band and stuff... and i can play alot of different genres. So no matter what your age is you can be a good guitar player. Your still pretty young, so start playin and collaborating with some other people, and i'm sure you will be a great player.

You could start at age 30 and become an awesome player. "Guitar shows no age."
There are only two important things in life - There's music and theres girls, not necessarily in that order....

I started playing at the ripe ol' age of 19 and was fretting about the very same thing. Four years of heavy practicing later and I'm very happy with my progression and skill level. It doesn't make a difference when you start, I know some amazing guitarists who didn't pick up their axes until later in life and they totally rock, so be thankful that you're young and found something to be passionate about, but I don't think age has anything to do with how good you can become.
Blues is easy to play, but hard to feel.

The best thing that could happen to practicing is when you hit 'The Brick Wall', for the simple fact that you know soon enough you'll come out a better player after it.

i second that

Paderewski started to play the piano at the age of about 25 and became well known virtuoso. if you can imagine it, you can do it - no limits.
