*But,do you REALLY need to play with the gain all the way up ? What you are encountering is the load/impeadance imbalance between the pick-up/volume knob and the amp.....Try bringin' that gain back down to 5/8 or 3/4 and play your amp that way for a couple of days.....I'll bet that you will still have all the distortion you need and the guitar will sound a tad "crisper" and your sound more controllable.....And then again, maybe not...:D
