Well as well as the 6 and 12 string guitars and a little G and E banjo, I do Drums (passable but not brilliant !) and Bass (pretty good) as well as singing main and backing vocals.

'cos I have no friends !!!

On on a serious note it is a lot of fun however until we move the drums are a no go on account of having neighborers below us, as is the TSL100 I have been eying !

Besides guitar, I play the piano a little. when I was younger, I was extremely good on the piano, but quit for some reason. Now I'm trying to pick it back up, which is a challenge!

I started learning theory while playing the trumpet in Jr High, mostly now just guitar, bass, lil drums and bang on the wife's piano here and there.

I can barely play guitar... don't have the heart/ego to pick up any new instruments!
... and that's all I have to say about that.

i can also play mandolin, opens up a folky side i never new i had.
an also pickin up lap top guitar, (basically slide bt with an acoustic laid across ya lap dunno if theres any real difference) this feels very different for me compared to just normal guitar, due to different tunings and the whole way in whcih you play is different no frettin with the fingers for the most part,

I play the piano pretty well, and I can fake on a bass when someone needs it.

Occasionally, I get to thinking that the piano is a superior instrument to the guitar, due to the ease of both playing a good groove (Canteloupe Island) as well as the ease of playing massively fast (Fantasie Impromptu), but then I throw on some Vai, Satch, Malmsteen, etc. and realize that you can fake most piano things on the guitar, but you just can't emulate a lot of guitar-specific tones and moves on a piano.
"You must stab him in the heart with the Bone Saber of Zumacalis... well, you could stab him in the head or the lungs, too... and the saber, it probably doesn't have to be bone, just anything sharp lying around the house... you could poke him with a pillow and kill him."

I love the harmonica, but have never gotten around to buying one, let alone learning to play the thing. Which is bad considering that in Nairobi, they sell for the equivalent of about US$8.
If you had a basic movement invloving the I, II, III, IV, V and VI chords in a major scale, I can fumble with the bass.
I used to play recorder when I was young.
Eventually, I want to be able to play guitar, bass, drums, piano, sax and haronica.
And now that I'm in a band(Lordatherings, how do you add a link to anoter thread here?), I'll be getting more opportunuties to mess aroud with at least some of these instruments.

dirt..i get the same feeling somedays like why do I even play the classical guitar if almost all of it can be done on the piano faster and easier..Thats one of the reasons im taking up the piano is because i want to be able to do cool soundin fast runs (like those blazingly fast 2 octave arpeggios chopin does somtimes) along with a bass melody..I cant do that on guitar but i also cant bend on the piano..I guess they both have the advantages and disadvantages

I can play Bass quite well, I am quite versatile on it. Other than that, some drums and a little piano and harmonica.

Apparently the harmonica is well loved.
So, all you harmonaphiles, what's your best harmonica bit?
I love virtually all the harmonica stuff I've heard, from Aerosmith songs("Pink") to stuff in country westerns, but my all time favourite harmonica bit is the one in Don William's "I recall a gypsy woman". I absolutely love it.

I play the electric and acoustic guitar (which I consider to be different instruments). I picked up the harmonica, but wasn't really inspired by it, haven't played it in probably 9 months. I like the mandolin and the banjo, but i'm more likely to pick up a mandolin for some Ricky Skaggs lead pickin'. I've always been a leader, musically, so I can't see myself with the banjo (which is essentially the standard bluegrass substitution for a rhythm section. I know about the Stanley Brothers, so don't critique me on that!). Yeah, anyways like I said, I might get a mandolin, but haven't decided.

Well, aside from a recorder we played in 4th grade, I got my musical start with the trumpet which I played for 6 years and learned how to read music with. I haven't played the trumpet since I put it down 8 years ago (damn was it really that long ago?) I'd really like to learn how to play piano, but I'll have to wait awhile on that one since I don't have one or know anyone who does!
Blues is easy to play, but hard to feel.
