Hard? Stu Hamm tackled the song on a 4-string bass, so it should be way easy on guitar... j/k, I know that a lot of that kind of music is hard to arrange for the guitar, mainly due to the fact that it wasn't written for the guitar. On piano, however, Sonata Pathetique, and most other Beethoven, is really simple (at least compared to Rachmaninov, Moszkowski, Listz, Czerny, etc.).

I can stumble through the first movement of Für Elise and some of the so-called "Moonlight Sonata" on guitar, but you want hard? Try some Bach counterpoint (I'm not talking about the easy ones like Bouree in Em...) or some Chopin Etudes or for incredible difficulty, try Chopin's Fantasie Impromptu on guitar. I tried for a couple days and I managed about a 3/4 speed two handed tapping version of the first 2 or 3 bars for the right hand, but there's no hope for me trying both the treble and bass at the same time.

How'bout Toccatta & Fugue by JS Bach? There are versions for both classical and electric guitar out there and they are both pretty darn difficult

Oh and since we're talking difficult songs, give Paganini's 5th Caprice a try.

If you really sit down and try toccatta and fugue, they aren't that hard, in todays standards (I'm talking the elctric version). Especially when we got Azrael who tabbed it all out.

Now Paginini's 5th caprice is starting to border into shred, but I guess it would be even harder when playing classical guitar.

nah not realy when use the speed of alternating the I and M fingers ive seen some people who could tear upa classical guitar with alternating the I and M fingers
then when u use your other fingers to addd in some base notes and melody its awesomeness =D

Pagganinis 5th doesnt seem like music in the beggining to me[just for show off =D] the rest of it is real pretty though

now paganinis 24th is a HARD song

I wish I could play fast, tough classical stuff by fingerpicking.

But I'll settle on using a pick.

Maybe we're talking about different sonatas here, but I've seen the sonata Pathetique played on piano and it Has counterpoint harmonies, fast chord movements, and a bunch of other ridiculously hard features.

ace let me correct you by saying azreal DID not tab out the entire toccata and fugue..there is a piece of like 30 seconds missing from his version but he has already been told that.. the third movement of the moonlight sonata is very difficult..

Oh I kno that Az didn't tab out the entire thing, in fact I read the whole thread where some of you guys complained to him. But of course, I haven't played that for months, and my Bach recording is all scratched right where toccatta and Fugue are (of course).
