Description
In this tutorial we're going to explore some fun and powerful ways to level up your pentatonic soloing in a classic rock context. So I've written a practice tune specifically to showcase the sound of what I like to call "climbing pentatonics", where you climb up the neck using these little micro-positions and bends that really create an exciting rise in intensity.
I'll be using my Gretsch Duo Jet for this practice tune, and I'll be running it through a small Fender amp with a bright tone and a little bit of reverb. In front of that I'm using this overdrive pedal called "Mudhoney", but you can of course use any overdriven or distorted tone you have available - and of course any electric guitar with six strings on it.
