Description

One of the most useful things you can learn on the guitar would be some solid skills with the basic open chords, the ones I like to call campfire chords. And then once you’ve learned the basic chords, you need to learn to dress them up a bit and create some cool variation within the chords using various embellishments. There are many ways to do this and in this tutorial we’ll look at some of the most common ways within the key of A.

I’ll be using my Martin-style VKV steel-string acoustic for these examples, but you can use any guitar, acoustic or even electric. It’ll of course have a different tone, but these examples will work on any instrument.
