In this lesson, I’ll show you how to do a hammer-on. It’s called a hammer-on because you “hammer” one of your fingers onto the string in order to make the note sound.

In guitar notation and tab, hammer-ons are indicated with a little curve connecting the picked note and the hammered note with an H above the curve.
