Whenever we play a standard scale on guitar, one note is typically gone as soon as we play the next one. And since we don't have a sustain pedal to make the notes ring into each other, like you do on a piano, this can tend to sound a little choppy; like a singer who accents “every note in a phrase”. So in this lesson we'll look at one of the simplest examples of how to use the open string concept for a more piano like sound.
