Description
I’m using a Les Paul set to the bridge pickup for a full, clear, and powerful tone, but any guitar with a humbucker pickup in the bridge position is suitable.
As far as amps go, any Marshall style tube amp is a desirable choice. Crank up the amp for a full crunch sound. Set the Drive to 95%, Bass to 45%, Mid to 55%, Treble to 60%, and Presence to 65%.
For Guitar 3, kick in an overdrive or distortion pedal for more gain and sustain! Guitars 2 and 3 also use a chorus pedal to give that 80s sound. Guitar 3 also uses echo to thicken up those leads. Add some reverb to all guitars for depth.
I’m using 10-46 gage with a heavy pick to dig into these riffs and licks.
Here are the settings I used:
Marshall JCM 800 Model:
Drive: 95% Bass: 45% Mid: 55% Treb: 60% Presence: 65%
Tube Screamer (Guitar 3):
Drive: 65% Tone: 70% Level: 60%
Chorus (Guitars 2&3):
Rate: 30% Depth: 30% Wet/DryMIX: 35%
Delay (Guitar 3):
Time: 385ms Feedback: 35% Wet/DryMIX: 20%
Hall Reverb:
WetDryMIX: 35%
