Description

In this tutorial we are going to learn how to play "Twenty Flight Rock" as performed by Eddie Cochran. This classic song is a I-IV-V blues progression played in a rockabilly style, following that form for most of the song except for the intro. Within that, we have a several breaks to emphasize the story of the lyrics and a single guitar part that outlines the moving bass, along with some other chords and a rockin' solo.

Played with just one guitar, this song is a blast to play and is a creative take on a blues progression with a nice swing feel. It's as fun to play as it is to learn, and gives you a great intro into playing in a swung, rockabilly style. The original recording of the song is in G, but in this tutorial we are going to teach it in A just like it's played live where we can take advantage of our open chord shapes for all those rockabilly rhythm parts.

"Twenty Flight Rock" is in the Key of A, at 122 BPM and in 4/4 time.
