Description

What’s up,it's Mike from Guitar Tricks, teaching you "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" as made famous by the Rolling Stones. This is a classic early rock tune based on R&B and the blues, but played as a pop rock song.

This tune features 2 guitar layers. Guitar 1 is an electric guitar that plays one of the most iconic rock riffs of all time, as well as some cool R&B influenced rhythm guitar. Guitar 2 is an acoustic guitar that plays a steady strumming groove throughout.

The song kicks off with that iconic single note line that mimics what would be a horn line in an R&B tune. The awesome fuzz tone of the guitar catches your ear right away, and sets the rhythm, groove, and mood with plenty of attitude! The band kicks in and settles into this groove nicely. The verse section features the electric guitar switching off the fuzz pedal and playing some rhythm fills & licks that really help flesh out the section.

The main lick of the song returns for the energetic chorus section. Both the verse and chorus are played three times to make up the arrangement, with an extended chorus vamp that fades out to end the song.

To play this tune using only one guitar, simply play Guitar 1 all the way through!

In the following lessons, we'll talk steady acoustic strumming, single note riffs, and R&B influenced rhythm guitar approaches. We are in the key of E major, with a 4/4 time signature, at a tempo of 134 BPM.
