Description
First let me show you a classic "exotic" note that's often used in rock solos. For this sound we'll locate the 6th scale degree in the basic minor scale and raise that up a whole step.
This new note is called a major 6th or a dorian 6th, and if you play the full minor scale pattern with the raised 6th it's called a dorian scale. In this lesson we'll explore a rock lick that uses this sound.
