Description
Within a song there will most often be some "dead space", where nothing significant is happening for a bar or two. That often happens because the singer needs to breathe or rest for a second, and sometimes it's actually quite nice for the listener to get a tiny break.
But it can also just be "dead space", and in that case it makes a lot of sense to fill it out with something. That's where the term "fill" comes from, and in this tutorial we're going to explore how you can use both your rhythm and lead vocabulary to do this.
Fills can be improvised or planned out, and there are endless ways to approach it. In this tutorial we're going to explore some of the most useful ways, so let's get started!
