Description
Hi all, this is Hunter Perrin here with Guitar Tricks. In this lesson, I'd like to talk to you about rockabilly music and, in particular, how it was made famous in the 1950's by Sam Phillips, Elvis Presley, Scotty Moore, and Bill Black at the iconic Sun Studios in Memphis Tennessee.
The musical ingredients are pretty simple: one singer who also plays acoustic rhythm guitar, one electric guitar player, and one slap happy upright bass player. Take one part country and one part rhythm and blues, mash 'em together and play with an amped up echo crazed western swing attitude and you get something far greater than the sum of its parts. You get rockabilly in all its dangerous, rebellious, and energized glory. A truly wonderful sound! Let's get started.
