Now that we've gone through each of the most useful intervals one at a time, let me demonstrate what it sounds like when you mix them all up. I'm just going to go for it, so don't think you have to catch everything I do; but try to see if you can recognize some of the intervals I'm using.

In this tutorial we've scratched the surface of how intervals are used in a rock context, and I hope you've gotten a good idea of how much this concept can do for your playing.

Almost everything in music can be broken down to intervals, but many rock players use these sounds without understanding them theoretically. And that's okay, but if you understand how a certain sound is obtained you can explore it and develop it further!

Let's say you really like the lick that used the 5th intervals. Now you know why it sounds the way it does and you can come up with more licks that use this sound. So have fun exploring the basic intervals in rock, and I'll see you in the next video!
