Description
The bridge in "Unwell" has some really cool melodies and loud open chords to keep up the dynamic with the full band. Here are some key points to help you through it:
1. The chord progression during our bridge is ||: Dsus2 | F#mi | Dsus2 | F#mi | Dsus2 | F#mi | E | E :||
2. Guitar #1 plays our lead melody, which uses a combination of thirds and fourths played on the G, B, and E strings. The melody is different each time through and features a lot of sliding on the G and B strings.
3. Guitar #2 plays a combination of open chords both strummed on the downbeat as well as some anticipations on the upbeat to create nice rhythm shift with the drums.
3. Guitar #3 simply plays our open chords and does some slight building towards the end to lead into our last chorus.
4. The breakdown for our bridge is IV - VI minor - IV - VI minor - IV - VI minor - V - V. This sort of straying from the root (A) does a great job of building anticipation towards the chorus.
