Description
First we'll show you some of the ways you can utilize the acoustic guitar like a percussion instrument. Tunstall along with a ton of other acoustic guitar players use these techniques all the time to give the guitar a drum-like feel. There's a slew of techniques here: left hand muting for a percussive "washboard" effect, and lots of ways to use the right hand to strike the body of the guitar and evoke differing percussive tones. I'll show you some of these ideas with this track and as usual, it is encouraged that you try these ideas out in your own songs.
