Description
This exercise is an extension of what we've learned before. You will get a great alternate picking workout while using the "combination of three fingers" that we worked on in earlier technique exercises.
Give careful attention to making sure the only note that falls on a different string (the note counted "4") is played with an upstroke. This is the crucial part of strengthening your alternate picking. There is a picking technique that will use a downstroke that we will discuss later in the rock course.
Remember to relax, count, and use "short bursts of speed" to maximize your practice efforts. Use that metronome, too!
