I am new to all of this and have been playing for a whole week now. My question is the guitar position. I find that I am kicking the bottom out about 8" on my leg therefore it is at like a 20 degree angle. But that seems to be the only way I can see everything going on. Am I creating a bad habit or is this ok?

If you are comfortable in that position, if it doesn't hinder your ability to play, then it's fine.

Often tilting the guitar up a bit helps to see the strings, frets & your fingers so you can see what you are doing. Too much, though, will force you to twist your wrist too much & that would be bad form.

Here's a lesson I did on posture & technique.

Hope that helps! Please ask more if necessary & best of success with your guitar learning. Have fun!
