Any recommendations of how to plug guitar into PC and a simple amp modelling software ? Trying to watch a guitar tricks video and play guitar just simple distortion and clean needed, having trouble with using rock smith USB cable

Either Audacity (free) or Garage Band plus Apogee Jam (about $100) are a good start.

Tru using garageband for mimicing the sound of guitar and other imstruments. Its so real you could hardly spot the difference between the actual sound sound and the one poduces by garageband
