Which would be better??
Ok everyone I am new. My friend has an electric guitar and stuff. I listen to stuff like Slipknot and am soon to decide on an electric guitar or an electric bass guitar. My question is which would be better for rocking out, a bass or a guitar?

That all depends on what you want to do. Both are necessary ingredients for "rocking out". Does music from a certain register appeal to you more? A bass would be good if you like gettin' into those evil slipknot grooves. A guitar is better for screaming solos a few octaves up. It all depends on what appeals to you more.
Blues is easy to play, but hard to feel.

Heh, I've got both an electric guitar and an electric bass :D
and i think you should start with a guitar, cause it's easier to play alone, bass is more like a band instrument when you aren't pretty good at it.
but ofcourse it's all your own choice.

Bass is for people too dumb to play guitar.
It's got two less strings and they're bigger and easier to see.

What is it with today and people banging on about dumbness !
Basses are different form guitar, they do a different job. I'm not sure it is fair to say one is easier to play than the other as there is always something new to find out ...or invent with both !
I am a better guitar player than I am a bass player. That is because I spend 90% of my time playing the guitar and only 10% on the bass. However I enjoy playing both and respect equally those who are good at either !
As for which on is right for you...well that is a question only you can answer !To find out you could borrow/ hire one or the other and find out by playing them.
A word of advice to the wise, there are 10 x more guitarists than bass players so getting good at the base is much more likely to get you a gig then practicing like crazy on the guitar !

I like both of them..but I prefer my classical guitar out of them all
I like the bass for the funk beats lol but I dont have one so i barely play..I just apply what I know how to do on the guitar to the bass
