The standard rock song seems to have one good riff in it. Lately I've been writing some songs that feature multiple riffs (I hope they're good but I guess it's all subjective) and then constructing the song such that it has as many as 9 or 10 parts to it (and each part having its own riff) rather than the standard song format of V/C/V/C etc.....that has the main riff, then chords, back to the main riff and so on.

Anyway, here's a fragment of what I'm talking about: it's just the intro (a three part intro) and ends where it's going into the next section which fades into a clean guitar and two more melodic riffs.......anyway, give it a spin and see if it makes any sense to you

Freaky!
Modern.
Basic.
Sphere.
Cool.

Some words that crossed my mind listening.

Keep it up!
"What then is truth? A movable host of metaphors, metonymies, and; anthropomorphisms: in short, a sum of human relations which have been poetically and rhetorically intensified, transferred, and embellished, and which, after long usage, seem to a people to be fixed, canonical, and binding. Truths are illusions which we have forgotten are illusions- they are metaphors that have become worn out and have been drained of sensuous force, coins which have lost their embossing and are now considered as metal and no longer as coins".

Hey, thanks, glad you like it. The finished song will run about 10 or 12 minutes it looks like. I'll try and post the whole thing when it's done.

This is just the first couple of minutes of a larger piece (think of it as an extended intro of sorts). I actually did finish this one and it turned out to only be about 5 minutes long.......though, I did restrain myself and did not actually play a solo -- not that I'm anti-solo (lord knows, I did about 3 demo albums full of them) but this song didn't need it.

Since I got my GI-20 I've been working on incorporating a lot of non-guitar sounds and working with non-standard musical forms...probably of minimal interest to the average guitar player but since I do play guitar I gotta tell somebody
