15 w Marshall mico-stack, getting it on Tuesday, I cant wait !!!

Don't get me wrong I love my Pod etc however there's no substitute for a good ol noise machine !

Im really looking forward to: A putting my PRS into my GNX2 / Podpro and plugging that into the "CD in" (Tee heee !) and also being able to turn an amp above 0.0021 in our apartment (difficult with 30-60Wers !)

I'm in button twiddling heaven !

If the gear guru will indulge me,what is the physical significance of wattage on amps? What, for instance,is the difference between a 15w amp and a 60w amp?I know one is probably louder than the other(if we go by the wattage rating of hi-fi systems),but the doctor is excited about a 15 watt amp,so there's got to be something more to it than just loudness.

Congrats, Doc! That amp gets good reviews, so I expect you will be unavailable for a while due to eargasm overload. :D

Cheers Lordathestrings, I will drink one for you this evening ! Expect a plethora of MPs s from Stonegroove studios in the not too distant !

KingDavid, bigger is not always better, (yer year I know that is normally the cry of the man with the tiny winkle) however, the the case of amps, well it is also true.

Im not really planing to gig with this amp so being able to decimate whole areas of rain forest with a single tactically place Am is not an issue.

I do however want to try recording using different microphones / preamps and to be able to do that the amp needs to not generate too much noise whilst being driven reasonably hard. Now this instance of driving in this case is more to do with signal to noise ratios as opposed to getting the tubes good and juiced (as this is a solid state amp). However, it is a good few years since I miked an amp so we will see !
