That's a load of horse manure. It isn't a question of tubes vs. solid state, but your amp vs. another specific amp. What kind of amp are you running, anyways?

Most likely. I only have tried the MT-2 (Metal Zone), and I found that the GT-6 version of the MT-2 was pretty accurate. A little bit weaker, perhaps? I didn't A/B it or anything, so it was just my by-ear comparison.

There are a few main differences between the GT-6 and the ME-50. There's no LCD display on the ME-50, just a one digit display. The GT-6 has more effects and I don't think the ME-50 has amp simulations (I might be wrong there). A simple Google search will let you know some of the more important differences.

Oh yeah, the GT-6 is gold, and the ME-50 is blue.
