Hey, eventually I'm going to want to replace my trusty Peavey Sessionbass head with an actual tube power amp. I've been looking at Suns for two reasons: 1). They're tube powered (duh), and 2). they have a rackmount model which will fit exactly into the rack spaces my current head takes up. Oh, and it's about 4 times as powerful.

Anyway, the tone I get with the head barely cracked is pretty good, and it's only going to get better when the amps turned up to where it should be, but I'm wondering what Sun's reputation is. Do they hold up, or are they prone to crap out?

No SVT dealers around these parts. All the "high end" bass amps are Sun, GK, and ah.... maybe a Mesa here and there. But I don't buy anything I haven't played anymore. Generally I look for a big warm boomy bass tone, the kind that rattles everything for miles. I can't stand that midrangey "clack" sound a lot of players go for. I mean, if I want more attack, that's what my thumb is for.
