Dr Simon, the point I was trying to get across is..

That people wouldn't try to "rip him a new one" if he wasn't so rude and cocky to them in the first place.

And futhermore, I've been posting on forums on the internet, and on dial up BBS's for 6 or 7 years now..

If you will take some criticism Dr Simon, from a fellow admin/moderator, editing peoples posts is not the way to get them to 'behave'. If you try to control every word that goes on in a forum, people get bored, pack up and leave. In my experience, setting guidelines... and letting the forum members themselves explain whats to be expected of each other... works a lot better than admins/moderators actually going in and editing posts.

Ketsueki... conversations like this are very good for forums (especially small ones like this), but you would probably do well to stay a little calmer.

I really hope Im not trying to control, Im just looking out for the guide lines set down in the forum rules.

I am not and will never be the thought police.

However, flaming people is not the way to lively, constructive discussion as it quickly degenerates into not only a pissing mach but also just name calling which doesn't do anyone any good.

Example:

"Im a better guitarist than you"

"No your not"

"Yes I am you FKn Wnker"

"but i listen to Steve via all the time and he is better than the people you listen to"

"no he's not"

yes he is

"You suck"

"My dad can play faster than your dad"

etc etc yawn !

Bad language / abusive posts are also something that will be edited regardless of whether I think it is justified or not.

Having gone back and read over the thread... there are things I could say, and would dearly love to, but its kind of pointless considering the thread is now dead, and people are too excited to get any real conversation going again.

But I would like to say thank you to Dr Simon for taking a couple of minutes out of his day to clear up that little bit of forum policy for me.

No, there is nothing wrong with saying that you think it is boring however lapsing into the vernacular was bad !

The point I was making was that there are a thousand ways to say things some are abusive / break forum rules and some are not.

I will now mark my calendar, that today, on the 21st of March.

I saw someone use the word "draconian" on a BBS.

Of course, whats really sad, is I've read whole texts on Draco, in the original Greek.

School rocks! And thats why I fully intend to spend at LEAST 10 more years in it.

Yea sorry for calling you a punk. imo, and sorry for bringing it up again once you guys have nicely cleaned it all up, calling someone's music boring is not a useful criticism coming from another musician. It's like saying it's shyte and good for nothing (neither is denying it's even a song lol. jesus).

I'd take personal offense hearing another musician call my music 'boring' and in all honesty I'd do my best to kick his teeth in, as those are fighting words.

but you're right, you do have a right to your own opinion, and I guess I'll have to uphold my right to opinion by stating that your opinion
i'm done with this tho.

Who obviously doesnt understand the bit about not flaming

I am now closing this thread, you were warned.
