I'd just like to know the differences between these strats and why they cost different.

American- Generic strat.
Standard- Made in Mexico. Quality varies greatly. Bad value for the money if you don't get a good one.
Deluxe- Alternative models and variations of standards
American Deluxe- Some higher quality parts than American, I'm not sure of all the specs.
American Special- Alternative models and variations, like a floyd equipped strat.
Highway 1- I'm not sure all the differences, they're cheaper American models.
Classic- old ones, they have a '50, '60, and '70 model.
Special Editions- Change every year, not sure where they're made. I believe US. They usually have special pickups, like the Atomic II.
American Vintage- special reissues, like the popular '52 tele.
