Effect Pedals
first off i'm a newb don't make fun of me we were all there once........ and if you do make fun of me ok fine atleast keep it to the thread your makin fun of me at :) ohwell but anyways was wondering what exactly delay pedals are for (tryed one out at a store and i didn't really like it but maybe it's just meant for somethin more then what i thought) and also wanted to know if there's anyplace on the web to get pedals cheap thx thx

A delay pedal is kind of like an echo. It takes the note you're playing and repeats it in a set amount of time, usually measured in milliseconds.
A lot of lead players use them along with reverb to give the lead a more full sound.
As for cheap pedals, check out ebay. But, if I were you, I would look into an effects board. Much cheaper that way because you don't have to buy 10 different pedals, you just buy one that has all the effects.
Search around Ebay for like a Digitech RP50 or RP3000.

the RP series of pedals by digitech are great, but you also may find later in your playing that stompboxes offer a better, albeit one-dimensional, tone. Bascially, I mean that a multi effects pedal is made to be a jack-of-all-trades, but master of none, and once you find your unique sound, you can buy a stompbox that will produce a delay more suited to your sound than, say, an RP200.
